Haze Guidelines

 

[ROMANTIC SUSPENSE] The suspense of romance is usually on the hazy side, blurring the vision and confusing the heart. The heart may feel torn, but only for a time, until the right person shows them sacrifices, they never knew they were making to simply be in a relationship.

Strong but vulnerable heroines. Passionate romance. Blinding sex. That’s Haze.

  • Moderately paced stories with chapter-ending cliffhangers.
  • ADULT ONLY
  • Proven category tropes including, but not limited to, revenge and blackmail.
  • Stories featuring beta heroines and the everyday, relatable men who properly courts them.
  • Strong conflict. This is a major deal. Why don’t the two people who are right for each other just be together? Define the rift that is keeping them from a happily ever after.
  • POV should be split 50/50 between the hero and heroine. 3rd person POV is preferred. Non-primary characters should NOT have their own POV.
  • The heat level should be a building simmer.
  • Single title and series title novels must be complete at 65-80K words each in length.
  • Novellas are ONLY accepted as series titles. Each installment must be complete at 50-80K words and be presented as a serialized package.
  • Must include query letter and brief synopsis with submission.
  • Age play/pedophilia
  • Bestiality. Steamy shapeshifter sex (in human form) is welcome.
  • Edge play. Including, but not limited to, blood, breath, scat/urine, knife, and gun. If it’s not safe, we’re not interested.
  • Incest. No blood relatives, please. We do, however, accept step-siblings and in-laws.
  • Necrophilia
  • Rape as titillation
